Important Update: Bhutan has reduced the daily Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) from $200 to $100 per day, per person. This fee, collected by the Bhutanese Government, goes towards environmental, cultural and social programs in Bhutan.

If you are among the lucky few who have heard about the Kingdom of Bhutan, it is likely on the top of your wish list of places to visit. However, it can be very challenging to figure out where to start. There are so many questions to answer:

  • What’s the best time to visit Bhutan?

  • Should I join a group trip or should I plan a private journey?

  • How do I plan the perfect trip for my interests and my budget?

In the past, there were only a handful of tour operators or travel agents who offered trips to Bhutan. Today there are thousands, in Bhutan and around the world, and it can be nearly impossible to sort through them all to find the perfect fit for you. It can be overwhelming.
